disconnected from the internet

i left the PTA office last night at around 9pm. couldn't stand it anymore... was getting ready to go home when i got rush work again. it wasn't even in my job description... but i did the work, anyway, because it was the right thing to do... people needed help and i was there to help.

i didn't feel like having dinner there... tired of cold not-so-good food from Club Intramuros.

anyway, on the way home, i wanted to get a massage... stopped by The Spa along Jupiter... it was their grand opening and it was by invitation only... anyway, i decided to go to Palm Garden in ortigas and it was closed... so, i ended up at Discovery Spa...

Discovery spa was very nice... therapists are mostly by appointment, i was lucky to get one at 1130. Anyway, their facilities are cool... not as nice as The Spa's in libis but quaint. The services are pretty cool. the gym is open until 1am... good place to work out... will have to check out the rates.

Anyway... to the real point of this blog... i am beginning to hate dial-up. it's so much cheaper, but it's so hard to get a connection and it always fails. damn dial-ups. connection is really slow (compared to DSL), some sites can't be accessed. that's why i haven't been able to connect so much these days.

i'm supposed to have unlimited connection from 12 midnight all the way to 7am but i haven't been able to connect there. bleh...

bad news... fanfiction site is down... been keen on reading this story about harry potter and the high elves.

dead tired

average sleep time the past week or two: 4 hours
average time spent working: 16 hours a day
average time spent doing rush work: 12 hours

yes. working in an office is cool... but it sucks with all the bureaucracy and the name dropping, the stupid people in the world who do not understand protocol.

i almost got into a fight with this stupid guy who refused to understand that my only task was to manufacture IDs, not release them. he insisted that i can release the IDs. it's so hard to reason with people who refuse to listen to reason.

right now, it's past the 11th hour and they are all still asking for their IDs... i find it so stupid that they can't wait until tomorrow to get their IDs at reception. why do they want it now?

stupid government people.

roach city

this place is infested with roaches. i swear, if i had a peso for each roach i've seen here, i'd be a rich man already. They haven't fumigated in years... they're not the big german roaches you see all the time at home,though... they're the small ones... dunno what they're called.

funny thing... i was preparing the printer to print a document i made when it reported a paper jam... i pressed the paper-feed button and a roach crawled out. HAHAHAHAHAHA

last night i slept with a man

before your mind works overtime, it was a non-sexual thing. this office has very little budget already and we all had to work extra overtime and report very early in the morning. in effect, we were all crammed in one two-bed room, which was about 10mx10m.... yes, all seven of us.

two girls slept in one bed, i and this guy slept in another, two slept on the floor, while one slept on the fold-out. in a way, it was fun... reminded me of the days we spent in AdAsia as protocol officers.

characters

1. AllyMcBeal's Elaine. There's this woman here who acts so much like this character. The first time she saw me, her face immediately lit up and she said "Hi! Ang gwapo mo naman" (you're so handsome). Then, she proceeded to engage me in conversation. The next time I saw her again along the corridor, her face lit up again and she said "Hi Pogi" (handsome)". I swear, she is soooo funny.

2. Cita Astals. She's sort of my sugar mommy here... she talks and acts like Cita Astals... boisterous, funny, intelligent, and flirtatious. I'm like her boytoy, without the sex involved.

3. PGMA. She's like Cita Astal's best friend here... she exudes sexuality and has all the big curves to prove it. She dresses to flaunt her features and she knows how to package hereself... the only thing is that she sounds like President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

4. Ate Ayette. She's my mother hen here. She always lets me use her computer, makes sure I eat right, explains processes and procedures. Basically she's my mother hen here.

The guys are all my kabarkada here... they're really good with treating people... although i feel kinda weird because they still give me preferential treatment. I'm still treated as a guest here.

Anyway... i guess that's all for now... i'll prolly narrate my experiences with the event-coordinator and his production manager soon... not a nice story to write

government work

i never realized how bad the image of the government was, and i never realized how much bureaucracy is entailed in working here.

i never came up with a mascot for the philippine tourism authority... not anymore... maybe next time... for now, i'm filled with requests for IDs and Car Passes. The designs i've done were really good, unfortunately, after everyone voted, one person had to overturn everyone else's decision. bad, huh? what's worse is that things are done last minute ALL THE TIME. imagine that? the government offices are an event organizer's worst nightmare.

anyway... let's divert... callbacks didn't do it for me. i could sing the song, but i couldn't seem to find my tempo with the keyboardist... i should've learned the song more... i was kinda depressed that i didn't get any part, but i consoled myself that there would always be a next time and that maybe there were greater things in store for me.... like this project, for example...

other updates

i finally got around to re-arranging my room... i'm not used to the new layout... and i guess there was something wrong with the feng-shui of my room... i guess i just have to get used to the new layout.

haven't found the time to write in the longest time due to lots of pending projects... oh, well... i'll be able to catch up soon... i'll be able to write in my other secret blog more often, too ;P
