crazy heat

this heat is crazy! i wouldn't be surprised if heatstroke and dehydration cases are reported by the ministry of health.... i mean, department of health.... too much harry potter. :D

this has to be the worst heat wave ever. in this type of heat, you would sweat even if:
1. you stay perfectly still
2. you just finished showering
3. you are shirtless and the electric fan is on high speed and is steadily blowing at you
4. you are anywhere in a semi-enclosed area

in this heat:
1. you never get to take a cold shower anymore, at most, it's a lukewarm shower
2. from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, the water from your overhead water tank is almost boiling hot
3. even the shade is not enough
4. even the airconditioner at high cool mode is not enough
5. heat induced headaches take occurrences
6. mind over matter doesn't work. you can't imagine yourself in antarctica anymore

ways to beat the heat:
1. stay in airconditioned areas during the brunt of the heat (i.e. overtime in the office, go to the office earlier, malls, supermarkets, coffeeshops, the gym, other people's offices)... best to avoid extremely commercial malls because mall owners turned down their airconditioning already
2. take cold showers in the gym... the airconditioner there somehow makes the water colder
3. run up to baguio... a friend said it's extremely cold there nowadays
4. soak yourself in water and keep the tub filled with ice
5. bring towels and changes of clothes
6. Bring wet wipes wherever you go. wet wipes can be your best friends
7. stay in your parents' room at night because they turn their aircon on. hahahaha

yes, i've been staying in my parents' rooms at night because the small window in my room doesn't provide any relief from the heat at night. i tried doing that last saturday, when i came home, and i ended up getting a fever. i got better after a night at my folks' place :D lovely lovely aircon...

anyway, today, i met up with my old friend Ben, and caught up on old times... we will be hanging out with each other more now that he's not in saipan anymore :)

5.
